Eden Centre for Adults Training Day
On 28 April, the Eden Centre for Adults organised their first staff
training session of the year. The aim was to return to the basics of
effectively supporting clients towards success. The training covered
two main aspects: Goal Setting which involves Task Analysis and
Comprehensive Autism Planning System, as well as application of
the “Traffic Lights” framework for identifying good autism practices.
practices in client’s activities and supports. Coaches were then
divided into small groups, allowing them to discuss and present
their findings to their peers.
At the end of the training, the coaches gathered to enjoy a buffet
spread which was thoughtfully coordinated by Aidah, the Hougang
Centre Admin. Our sincere thanks to Aidah who keeps our
stomachs full and is the food coordinator for every training day.
The day kicked off with a simple ice breaker activity to create a
lively and cheerful atmosphere for the coaches from both the Eden
Centre for Adults (Hougang and Clementi) to mingle and relax.
The coaches shared that they enjoyed the training day, describing
it as a fun, well-balanced and relaxing session. It was also a great
opportunity for them to meet fellow colleagues from the other
centre. Our sincere thanks to all the staff who made this day
a success.
The training session then began with a presentation by Sara, Head
of Adult Programmes and Services, who spoke about Goal Setting.
This was followed by Joshua, Head of Hougang Centre, who
presented the “Traffic Lights” approach, to identify good autism
