ACTIVITIES & VOLUNTEERISM
EVENTS
Botanical Picnic with our Eden Families
Our Family and Life Services (FLS) team
will be organising a series of four social
and recreational activities throughout the
year, to meaningfully engage families across
Autism Association (Singapore).
To kickstart their activities in 2023, the
team planned and carried out a walk and
picnic event at the Botanic Gardens during
the March holidays. The invitation was
extended to all caregivers and children from
the Eden Children’s Centre, Eden School,
Eden Centre for Adults as well as our Eden
Alumni.
The walk started as early as 9am, with
all participants gathering at the Botanic
Gardens entrance in their respective groups.
Each participant received a scavenger hunt
handout, encouraging them to search for
various items, such as a rooster and pebbles.
Additionally, bubbles were provided to
entertain the children as they strolled along.
The walk ended with a picnic at the field
near the National Orchid Park, where
everyone gathered. Participants indulged in
Polar snacks, engaged in coloring activities
and simple games, creating an atmosphere
of joy and togetherness.
Fun in the sun!
In addition to the 76 participants who
joined the walk and picnic, the event
received invaluable support from the
volunteer network and the presence of Taki
Pets volunteers, who offered friendship and
companionship to the attending families.
We are excited to be planning for the next
activity and hope to see more participating
families in time to come. Together, we can
create an environment of compassion,
understanding, and camaraderie.

Hari Raya Celebration 2023
Eden School held a simple and cosy Hari Raya celebration this year.
As part of the Hari Raya Celebration, there was a delicious lunch
bento set and bubble tea provided for all our Eden staff. Our
Muslim staff as well as the school bus uncles and aunties were also
gifted with delicious swiss rolls from cake shop Hanis!
To spread some festive joy to the community this Hari Raya,
students and educators from Lewis AM, together with Vice Principal
Stanley, gave out care packs to the residents at Bukit Batok Home
for the Aged on 26 April. The care packs were thoughtfully curated
and packed by our students from Lewis AM, Finn AM and Morgan
AM. Thank you students for your hard work!
On 28 April, the actual day of the celebration in school, many of
our students came dressed in their traditional Malay costumes.
They were treated to games at the Café, photo taking at the photo
booth and delicious Hari Raya snack tasting (kueh rose, cornflakes
and kueh bangkit). Students went home happily with goodie bags
which had ketupat motifs which they decorated and personalized.
At the Home, Lewis AM students interacted with the residents and
put a smile on their faces. We are so proud of our Edenites for
giving back to the community!
What a great way to celebrate this festive event!
