GETTING TO KNOW OUR STAFF
MUHAMMAD HAZIQ BIN BADRULHISHAM
How does your job as a DAC
Coach impact you personally?
INTERVIEW
Any favourite line from a movie?
It’s not from a movie but a series in Netflix called “Love on the
Spectrum”. It was a scene when Jimmy was saying his vows to
Sharnae and he said, “For autism is beautiful and you are autistic”.
Ever since I joined as a coach, it
has greatly opened up my eyes
to the world of autism. Working
with them has been an incredibly
transformative experience for me,
both personally and professionally.
I have gained a deep understanding
of the unique challenges and
strengths that individuals on the
autism spectrum possess. This

journey has taught me the value of
adaptability, flexibility, and embracing differences in all aspects of
life. Through this work, I have learned valuable life lessons that have
shaped me into a more compassionate and empathetic person. I
also want to take this opportunity to thank Mr Keith, Ms Sarah
and Mr Amos from the Hougang Centre for all the guidance and
support that they have given me when I first started, for they have
made me a better coach and taught everything I needed to know
about autism.
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your
life, what would it be?
It has to be the nasi lemak from the Malay shop just behind my
house – shout out to the makcik who makes the best nasi lemak
I’ve ever tasted.
Do you recall any memorable moments at work?
The most memorable moment I had at work was when we brought
a few of the clients to NEX at Serangoon to have lunch. It was my
first time bringing the clients out to take the MRT and spending the
rest of the day in the mall. It was really nice to see the clients out in
the public (especially in the MRT), how they order their food and
have lunch together with their friends.
What is your most played artist/song on your Spotify at
the moment?
I generally listen to pop punk, punk rock or hardcore songs but
currently I’m listening to a lot of Keshi’s song and “LIMBO” is one
of my favourites.
Outing at Upper Seletar Reservoir.
