Lifelong Learning Programmes for Our Adult Clients
Lifelong Learning is integral to Singapore, ensuring that its people
remain relevant in a constantly evolving world. It’s heartening that
this initiative is now available to our special needs community,
ensuring they are not left behind in our fast-paced world.
Thanks to the Temasek Trust CDC Lifelong Learning Enabling
Fund, the Eden Centre for Adults (ECFA) embarked on a handson iPad learning workshop called “Getting Started With iPad”,
in collaboration with the Autism Resource Centre (ARC). This
workshop aims to support individuals on the autism spectrum
to learn and operate an iPad, as well as to equip them with the
essential iPad skills.

From unboxing the iPad to the end of the session, the clients
showed great focus to explore the various features. Overall, this
workshop marks a positive step in our clients’ lifelong learning
journey as they navigate the path of digital literacy.

Clients at Eden Centre for Adults have been exposed to using an
iPad but mostly for leisure purposes though there are some clients
who use it as a daily schedule. The course was made available to
a total of 10 clients from both centres based on their abilities and
interests. The workshop took place in the ECFA gym rooms, led by
ARC instructors Mr Donald and Ms Dawn, who used a PowerPoint
presentation and video to facilitate.
