ACTIVITIES & VOLUNTEERISM
Eden Activity Club (EAC) had its very own October Fest in 2019,
with members enjoying two fun and exhilarating outings.
On 19 October 2019, members were treated to a slurping good
time with an ice-cream making workshop held at Ice-Cream
Chefs.Volunteers from corporate partner Allianz Global Investors
and EAC members paired up to learn about their favourite icecream flavours, and how to churn these out using easily available
tools. The workshop culminated with an ice-cream and waffle
buffet treat — the perfect icing on the (ice-cream) cake for all!
In collaboration with ST Engineering Aerospace Engines, EAC
members had a field day at the Marina Barrage on 12 October
2019, making their very own kites and then flying them.Volunteers
from ST Engineering Aerospace Engines brought kite-making kits
to conduct a kite-making session. Members experienced the thrill
of flying their hand-made kites at the open field of Marina Barrage.
We are deeply appreciative of the volunteers from ST Engineering
Aerospace Engines for sharing the fun of kite-flying, and the
volunteers from Allianz Global Investors for churning out icy-fun
moments with EAC members.

Outing to Thow Kwang Pottery
On 15 November 2019, 20 staff from
SAP brought Eden Centre for Adults
(Hougang) clients to Thow Kwang
Pottery for a workshop where they made
At the venue, all participants learned about
the history of Thow Kwang and checked
out one of Singapore’s oldest Dragon Kilns.
This kind of kiln is a long clay structure use
for wood-firing clay to produce porcelain,
and there are only two left in Singapore.
After the sharing, volunteers and clients
paired up to start their project — using
clay to make a cup, and beautifying it.
The volunteers supported and interacted
with the clients as they constructed and
decorated their cups. Our clients also
experienced using the pottery wheel.
The day ended with a sumptuous buffet
lunch for all participants, and clients each
took home the cup they had personally
