For an infant the symptoms of
Digestive Overload can consist
of irritability, grizzling, crying,
screaming, refluxing or swallowing food or milk back down,
refusing food or milk, arching
backwards,
pedalling
legs,
cramping, a lot of limb movement, short sleep cycles with the
odd longer sleep being had out
of exhaustion. Your child may
sleep well on you but not well in
their bed, chew and suck on
their hands to ease discomfort
(although this is also a teething
symptom - more about teething
on page 81) have excessive gas
and weight gain, bloating or
distended stomach, constipation, mucus in their stool from
the food moving through the
system too fast, or formed food
in the stool.
Thankfully though, all of the
symptoms of Digestive Overload
can be healed naturally from
birth by using the method of
Bio-logical Care from newborn
to six months of age, which you
can learn about by reading my
book, “BabyCues Prevent and
Remedy Colic, Reflux, Lactose
and Overload Naturally,” or by
using this BabyCues Bio-logical
Weaning Guide from six months
to two years of age.
BabyCues Bio-logical Weaning’s
core philosophy is Plain + Slow
= Gain + Grow. When we examine the facts about an infant’s
developing digestive system we
simply can’t ignore the overwhelming research that says we
don’t need to be in a hurry for
our children to like a variety of
food. In fact, if we want
optimum
health
outcomes,
biology demands that we take
the introduction of solid food
slowly, and not just for the first
year of life, but for the first two
years of life.
