cowboy boot, unicorn, bubble tea and mushroom
round out the top-selling accessories for students.
For grades K-5, sensory products are gaining
ground. Caruso suggests fun-shaped school supplies like the 3D Animal Eraser, which offers five
animal-shaped erasers in a single pack. Students
can also find a variety of journals and themed
sensory notebooks that are touchable and visually appealing. The Rainbow Sensory Journal features a unique and brightly colored cover made
of short, soft silicone strands. The Sensory Maze
Journal has a squeezable jelly maze on the cover
and comes in two bright colors.
For all ages, Caruso says, “Five Below sells the
most sought-after brands/licenses, which include
cool accessories for middle schoolers, and worth
the distraction to help focus attention for tweens:
squishy products like sensory toys in a variety of
bright colors and squishy pens that can ease anxiety any time.
Robert Titelman, CEO of Skylight Ideas in
Bel Air, concurs with these accessory trends,
and says the products should carry over into any
school program where kids can earn incentive
products or prizes. “Being current on ‘cool’ will
appeal to all participants and more likely increase
participation,” Titelman notes.
He says the trends in incentive items mirror those popular accessories the students crave.
High-tech items such as chargers, phone accesso-
ries and cell phone lights are big for high schoolers and middle schoolers. He also agrees, “Fanny
packs are huge – they can wear them around the
shoulder or cross body.”
Committee chairs and event organizers for
school events can work with a professional promotions company like Skylight Ideas to get the
most coveted products. These companies become
members of your team, recommending products
that are a good fit for your event or organization. Often, the traditional t-shirt or water bottle
just isn’t enough to generate commitment to the
campaign. Ideas like fidget cards, USB drives, QR
codes and more are among the more contemporary ideas, Titelman says.
For example, Skylight Ideas created a successful client-sponsored goodie bag of interesting and
useful school supplies – from classroom pencils
to cafeteria salad utensils. The company also reacted to changing world events by going directly
to the production of masks and surgical scrubs at
the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. After 9/11,
the company nimbly filled an order for 10,000
American flags for distribution in schools.
Titelman concludes, “We have products that
are ideal for planned PTA-hosted events, fairs or
holiday gifts, but we can also adapt quickly when
things happen, and you need to respond.”
This fall’s accessories will help you show your
true colors.
ACS is enrolling
K-12 students!
Girl Scouts—Where she’ll find her girl squad.
Great education should never
come at the expense of your
family’s values. Despite today’s
secular culture, parents still
have the right to choose biblical
principles for their homes. At
Arundel Christian School (ACS)
families do not have to choose
between an excellent, rigorous
education and a committed,
Christ-centered school for their
children.
As she’s teaming with other girls on community service projects,
earning badges and trying new things, she’ll develop courage, confidence,
and character. Don’t let her miss out on the fun and adventure!
If you are looking for a school
