A MESSAGE FROM THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Citizen Services is pleased to present the 2020-2021 Aging & Disabilities
Resource Guide. This year, the Bureau of Aging & Disabilities (BOAD), and all levels of federal,
state, and local government had to transition their service delivery model to one that included
virtual platforms. Although we continue to pride ourselves in our ability to provide in-person
services, we also acknowledge that a hybrid model of in-person/telephonic/virtual services
allows the BOAD to be even more accessible to you, our customers. This guide provides
valuable information from government assistance agencies, local businesses and our nonprofit partners, most of whom now offer more ways for their customers to access their
services. Whether you need help reviewing Medicare Part D plans, finding the right assisted
living facility for your loved one, locating transportation, help with caregiving, veterans
resources, or meeting your fitness needs through classes at the Senior & Community Centers
(virtual or in person), you will find it here. The Resource Guide is also available online at
www.carrollcountymd.gov/aging-and-disabilities.
The Carroll County Bureau of Aging & Disabilities is a Maryland Access Point (MAP) site serving
older adults, people with disabilities, Veterans and those who care for them. Our goal is to help
individuals and families make informed decisions about services that are most appropriate for
their distinct needs. This guide contains valuable information to help you identify resources in your
community. Understanding the different services can still be confusing, so we have assembled an
expert team that is here to help. Give us a call today to review options for you or your loved one.
