income and asset eligibility guidelines were
effective as of July 1, 2021; however, these
guidelines do change. Check with MAP I&A for
the latest figures. Assistance in completing
applications is available. Please note that wait
list for some programs may exist.

Property Tax
Credit Program
Plan is based on
relationship between
property taxes and
income; combined
gross household
income cannot
exceed $60,000.
Net worth is less
than $200,000
(excluding property
on which you are
seeking credit and
cash value of IRAs or
qualified retirement
savings plans).
Allows a credit against the homeowner’s property
tax bill if property taxes exceed a fixed percentage
of the person’s gross income.
No age restrictions. Credit applicable only to
dwelling that is the person’s permanent residence.
Apply before July property tax is due but no
later than September 1.

applied for the program previously should call

State of Maryland
Renters’ Tax
Credit Program
Plan is based on
relationship between
rent and income.
Net worth is less
than $200,000.
Provides tax credit for renters who meet certain
requirements on rent paid.
For persons aged 60 and over, persons who are
100% disabled or persons under age 60 (the latter
not in subsidized housing with dependent/s under
age 18 living with you).

Provides eligible Marylander’s assistance with
heating bills. For information or to apply, call the
Bureau of Aging & Disabilities at 410-386-3800.
Assists client in paying for food. Information &
Assistance at the Bureau of Aging & Disabilities
can assist with starting the application process

of Social Services who administers the program
and will ultimately make the final determination
regarding eligibility (https://mydhrbenefits.dhr.
