“My favorite space in my home is my
bedroom. Encompassing the entire
second floor, I took a non-traditional
room and a half with
sloping walls and ceilings
and made it into a master
suite complete with a
dressing area. It’s been
my place of rest,
relaxation and peace —
complete with calming lavender walls.
As my husband and I prepare to
welcome our first baby, the dressing
area’s been packed away and
transformed into a nursery for the next
iteration of the non-traditional space.”
“Our dining room is my favorite
because it is one of the first rooms we
decorated the way we wanted. There
is contemporary
furniture, bright colors,
interesting shapes and
glasses, beautiful
lighting and a lamp that
always gets comments.
It feels very much like it
encompasses the personality of our
home. We enjoy hosting guests and
family, have great meals and great
conversations and I just look at the
room more dearly now.”
“My favorite room is not in the house,
it is the screen porch on the waterside
of our house. We
overlook the
[Chesapeake] Bay and
Thomas Point Shoal
Lighthouse. The sunrise
in the morning is
eclipsed by the beautiful
twilight at night, when the great blue
herons fly past to roost at Thomas
Point Park. The sky turns violet and
every shade of blue before the stillness
of the night takes over.”
