This miniscule morsel of mayhem is a very }ny tricolored bat, measuring a scant
2 inches from }p of nose to }p of tail and weighing a whopping 2.5 grams (less
than a nickel). These bats emerge in the early evening and are oven mistaken for
large moths in 昀氀ight. Mischief was found outside a business in Longview, Texas.
The 昀椀nder dropped him o昀昀 at a veterinary clinic, who promptly called us. On arrival, }ny Mischief was thin and dehydrated, but had no injuries. Once he gained a
li琀琀le weight and his overall condi}on improved, he was released back in his area
to eat caddis 昀氀ies, moths, beetles, wasps, 昀氀ying ants and house 昀氀ies.

Persimmon su昀昀ered a bad
facial wound when she was
viciously a琀琀acked by a blue
jay, who drove her to the
ground. Along with a facial
injury, she sustained several
broken wing 昀椀ngers in the
assault. Because of this, she
is not releasable. She is now
receiving life}me care with
others of her kind at Bat
World MidCi}es.
