The bat condo was built by
instructor Je昀昀 Williams
(pictured right) and the students of the 2022-2023 Building Trades classes of Mineral
Wells High School. Comple}on of the outside in blue
and white (matching the museum colors) and moun}ng of
the bat house was done by
our favorite contractor, Benavidez Construc}on. A Sky
Track was generously donated for the day by Clay Godwin of Mineral Wells Rent-All
to mount the house over 209
high.
A huge thank you to Jim
Messinger and the Board of
the Na}onal Vietnam War
Museum for allowing the bat
house to be mounted at the
absolute perfect loca}on. The
bats occupying the old buildings in downtown Mineral
Wells, that are currently under renova}on, will hopefully
soon call this bat condo
home. This has been a fantas}c community project that
will hopefully draw a琀琀en}on
to the bene昀椀ts of bats as well
as the many Heroes of the
Vietnam War.

The big bat house is located
less than a mile from our Bat
Castle (page 40), and is in the
perfect spot for migra}ng
bats needing a safe spot to
rest or a permanent home.
