have 1 power source and cars have 2 sources going
to signal bulbs, tail light power and flasher light
(and brake light) power. To make the LED's work in
this application Rick Perry had to get creative to
make single source lights work correctly for flashing
signal lights. Further tricks were needed so that the
front parking lights don't light up when the brakes
are applied. The schematic above shows the
solution Rick came up with. His version also allows
adjustment of the park light level via buck
converters on the LED strips. The relays then switch
over the circuits to full power for the flashing or
brake light inputs.
The mentioned dual buck converter modules are
housed in their own custom 3D printed box and
have access holes so that adjustments can be made
to the parking light levels. This box along with the
other module assembly shown were then mounted
behind the gauge cluster.
