Association CEO Index 2024
The opportunities ahead
Association CEOs identify growth, innovation, and strategic partnerships
as key opportunities for the coming year.
Association CEOs identified many opportunities for
the year ahead, predominantly around five key areas:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Membership growth
Organisational development
Government engagement
Digital transformation
Education and training
Several association executives indicated they could
see opportunities for membership growth in the
coming year. Some are planning to expand into new
regions, while others are launching individual
membership options alongside organisational
memberships. Others are increasing member
engagement through enhanced value propositions
and tailored programs, such as Continuing
Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.
Organisational development is also a key focus, with
some associations aiming to strengthen internal
structures, implement new CRM systems, and
streamline processes to better serve members.
These efforts are expected to reduce key person
risk, free up staff time, and position associations for
sustainable growth.
Government engagement presents another major
opportunity, particularly in light of upcoming
elections and policy shifts. Many associations are
focusing on advocacy, aiming to influence
government decisions and secure funding to support
their initiatives.
Digital transformation and education and training are
also high on the agenda for some CEOs. Associations
are investing in technology to improve member
engagement and experience, exploring AI and other
innovations to stay relevant, and developing new
education products and training programs to meet
evolving industry needs. These efforts are expected
to enhance the overall value offered to members and
ensure long-term sustainability.
We are looking at growth
by expanding our membership
beyond the current eligible
members.
