5. Government policy and regulation
Government policy and regulation also pose challenges for many associations. Respondents mentioned
concern about the impact of changing regulations and government policies on their sectors, which can
create uncertainty and require significant adjustments in strategy and operations. The relationship with
government entities, including securing funding and navigating regulatory changes, is seen as a critical
area that associations need to manage effectively to ensure their continued relevance and success.

6. Innovation and technology
The adoption of technology and innovation was mentioned as both a challenge and an opportunity for
associations. Respondents highlighted the need to keep up with technological advancements, such as
implementing new systems (like CRM and AMS) and leveraging innovations like AI to improve operations.
However, there are concerns about the resources required to adopt these technologies and the
potential disruption they might cause.
