Association CEO Index 2024
About the Association CEO Index
The inaugural Association CEO Index has been designed to provide a selfassessment of association leaders’ satisfaction, effectiveness and
capability.
The Association CEO Index has been designed to provide a measure of CEO satisfaction and effectiveness
across five key measures.

•
Career Satisfaction
Workplace Wellbeing
Membership Management
Advocacy Effectiveness
Innovation & Strategic Capability
The scores are calculated on responses to a series of statements designed by Survey Matters. Ratings are
provided by respondents on a 7-point scale. Mean scores are calculated for each response and averaged
across each dimension and individual and converted to a score out of 100.
While the statements included in the indices are not meant to be exhaustive, they are based on Survey Matters
experience working with associations. The value of the index is in the ability to track changes in sentiment
over time.
