Drivers
High ratings for career satisfaction and membership
management are brought down by lower index scores for
wellbeing and advocacy effectiveness.
Nearly nine in ten (89%) association CEOs are satisfied with
their roles, with 48% reporting extreme satisfaction, driven by
a strong sense of purpose (93%) and sufficient authority to
perform their roles (92%).
Over four in five CEOs (84%) experience job strain, frequently
or occasionally lacking the time needed to perform their roles
effectively. As a result, 70% of CEOs feel run down and lacking
energy.
While 88% of CEOs are strongly focused on addressing
member issues, only 64% believe their associations have
created a compelling membership value proposition.
Nearly two thirds (63%) of CEOs rate their effectiveness in
government advocacy as strong, with industry bodies
performing slightly better than professional associations.
However, only 48% report having strong government contacts.
While 71% of CEOs believe their associations possess the right
skills and knowledge to innovate, confidence levels vary,
particularly among larger associations.
