Making Room
Have you ever had a conversation with someone which
caused you to feel so many different emotions, from joy
to anticipation, to love, and most of all, faith? Well, the
conversation I had with AJ and LaNitra Hale inspired me to
write this article. I hope your faith is pushed to the next level
as you read their story. As Pastor Jason says quite often,
”Let’s Go!”
The Hale’s had been happily married for five years. Like
many other couples, they began to think about the next
step… having a baby. After trying to conceive for some
years, they decided to go to the doctor where they found
out after a series of testing that they would not be able to
conceive naturally.
IN THE FACE OF NO:
THE HALE’S FAITH JOURNEY
As AJ looked down at their long-awaited blessing--Baby
Kingston--AJ stated that his faith journey began with the
concept of a family even before he was married.
“I grew up without a father figure, and that pushed me to
want to become what I didn’t have,” AJ said. “So when we
were told by the doctors that the only way we could have
a child was through surgery, I automatically went to God’s
Word. I remembered what Pastor J mentioned in a sermon
that--when faced with life, unfortunate circumstances---to
remind God what the Word says about your situation.”
AJ stated that, immediately, he began to remind God of His
Word in Genesis 1:28.
After hearing the news, LaNitra said, “I was devastated
because I knew that I really wanted to be a mother… that
we really had the desire to be parents and I began to ask
myself, ‘Would I ever be a mother?”
“God You told LaNitra and me to be fruitful and multiply
and to fill the earth and subdue it; therefore, give us the
opportunity to be a testament of what action faith
produces,” he began to declare.
WHAT STARTED YOUR FAITH JOURNEY?
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BELIEVING
GOD TO “MAKE ROOM IN THE FACE OF NO?”
LaNitra said that she began to surround herself with women
of faith.
“My crew mattered,” she said profoundly.
“My crew of women prayed over me, spoke words of
encouragement into my life; even went beyond the spiritual.
They began to hold me accountable in the natural as well
by asking me if I had made my doctor’s appointment, asking
me if I was eating healthy or drinking enough water.”
Immediately in the middle of her statement, as she took a
deep breath, this huge smile appeared on LaNitra’s face.
She began to describe an event that occurred a year ago on
a Sunday evening. She was with her Women’s Life Group.
“I remember when Lady B, Sheila Scales (aka Mimi) and our
life group of women prayed for me, and Lady B told me to
name my baby and for AJ and me to call the baby by name
in our prayers. After that prayer, I began to put my faith into
action, and I began to Thank GOD for Kingston.”
LaNitra stated that her faith became so big that she began
to speak, “I am going to be a mom this year.” She moved
into ACTION! She started looking for baby clothes and an
OB GYN physician.
“It was the moment where my faith, hope, and God’s Word
became one in my spirit,” she said.
GOOD Life
1.
To take spiritual authority over the situation through
God’s Word.
2. Understand that God’s will and plan for your life is to
prosper you, not to harm you. God’s plan is to give you
hope and a good future.
3. Your crew matters – surround yourself with faith
partners.
4. Write your vision and make it understandable –
Complete a yearly Vision Board, display it, and revisit
often.
5. Know your identity in God, who God says you are.
6. Faith without works is dead. You have to continue to
move forward with what you want. Have faith and put
works behind it. The Hale’s refer to this as FAITH IN
ACTION!
WHAT IS THE LAST THING YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL THE
READERS OF THEIR “MAKING ROOM IN THE FACE OF NO”
JOURNEY?
“We have only one last thing to say, ‘The King is Here… Yes,
Baby Kingston has arrived. WE THANK GOD every day
for our blessing and for being a testament of what Faith in
Action can produce.’”
