Repair & Sparkle
Make any minor repairs necessary around the
home, cracks in tiles, broken door handles, small
jobs that don’t take long but make a difference
to the potential buyer.
Clean everything until it sparkles – this makes
the home more appealing and the prospective
buyer is more likely to envisage living there.

A fresh lick of paint
Giving your walls a fresh lick of neutral paint can
make all the difference and can even make the
rooms seem lighter and more spacious.
Why not even give the front door a new coat
of coloured paint, after all this is one of the first
things the prospective buyer(s) will see, creating
a positive first impression.
3
Declutter
Clear all the excess content that has accumulated in
every nook and cranny. If needed, put some items into
storage. However, don’t de-personalise in the process.
When buying a property people need to be able to
envisage what the property would look like if they were
living there. People often find this difficult, so make
it easy for them to see the space in all its glory. And
remember people are often buying into a lifestyle as
much as a property, so show them the attractive side
of your lifestyle.

What’s that smell!?
Clear drains, wash bins, open windows, wash the
dog bed - house smells top of the list when it comes
to putting buyers off. Fresh clean smells can make a
property feel like an alluring home.
