Annual Church Service Arrangements
Divine Worship ~ Sunday 23rd August 2020; to be held (DV) in
Saint Mary Magdalene Parish Church, Donegall Pass, Belfast

IN TR OD UC TI ON: The complete and mandatory procedures for our annual pre- ‘Last Saturday’
Church Services are contained within the Standing Instructions & Administration Handbook as issued, 1st
January 2013. The purpose of the Order of the Day is to emphasise the detail peculiar to the Service
being held (D.V.) in St Mary Magdalene Parish Church, Donegall Pass on Sunday 23rd August 2020,
commencing at 3:00 pm.
2.GENERAL OUTLINE: The leading District this year is No. 3 RBDC and the City Grand Officers and all District
Chapters will depart from, and return to, Sandy Rowt Orange Hall, or as arranged below.
3. TIMINGS: The outline timings are as follows, with District Chapters allowing themselves time for travel and
any unavoidable delays.
a) Assembly: Sunday 23rd August – 2:15 pm at Sandy Row Orange Hall or as instructed by District Chapters
b) Parade: The City Grand Officers and No 3 District will step off at 2:30 pm with all other Districts as organised
by themselves
c) Route Out: As organised by No. 3 District Chapter.
d) Return:
As organised by No. 3 District Chapter.
e) Dispersal: Approximately 5:00 pm at Sandy Row Orange Hall, or as instructed by
District Chapters.
4. ROUTE FORMS 11/1: The District Registrar of No. 3 RBDC will submit the 11/1 Form leaving and returning to
Sandy Row Orange Hall, with all other Districts submitting their own proforma to cover their plans accordingly..
Districts are to notify No. 3 RBDC Registrar of Bands engaged and approximate numbers attending, on or before
the City Grand Chapter meeting in June, without fail.
5. DISTRICT COLOURS: All District Colours are to be taken, with the City Grand Chapter Colours and No 3
District Bannerette only being laid up. The remaining District Bannerettes and Colours are to be arranged at the
rear of, or around, the sides of the Church.
6. DISTRICT GROUPING: The District Groupings (if being used) as per Standing Orders should endeavour to
obtain a Band for the Group as decided amongst themselves. A Band will lend the necessary dignity to the
procession and greater efforts should be made to obtain one.
7. DISTRICT TRANSPORT: The District Chapters/Groupings, again as per Standing Orders, are to decide how
best to get to Belfast Orange Hall if transport may be required.
8. ORDER OF PARADE: The Order of Parade both outward and inward from Belfast Orange Hall is as follows with
those Districts joining/leaving as appropriate once requested and sanctioned by the City Grand Chapter.

9. MARSHALS: The District Marshals are to assist with the Church seating organisation and collection in the
Church, as well as their own duties; this should be done under the arrangements of the Chief City Grand Marshal
and City Grand Treasurers.
10. SUMMARY: It is the responsibility of each District Chapter Group to liaise closely with each other regarding
timings, transport and bands. Each District Marshal is to co-ordinate with the Chief Marshal regarding joining and
leaving the main Parade.
