is proud of our long standing
and defiant history of this
great Belfast Grand Black
Chapter and with our
Preceptorys
encamped
within Northern Ireland's
Capital City give notice of
its intension to remain a
leading proponent for the
advancement of our Reformed
Christian Evangelical Faith.
During the course of this current year we
will also be further promoting our work
through an event entitled FAME: namely,
Finance, Administration, Membership and
Evangelism.
This will be personally led by our Sovereign
Grand Master and I would encourage
everyone that when fuller details are formally
released, to ensure their positive support, as
such training can only be beneficial for the
future of our illustrious Institution.
As you will gauge by now, the work of
the City of Belfast Grand Black Chapter
continues, but as always we still need
your continuing support.
Reflecting back over the past twelve months
has certainly proven to be a successful year
for the City Grand Chapter.
In May during the launch of our Annual
Booklet, financial donations (including the City
Grand Master's Appeal, for Dementia NI)
were made to various charitable causes.
The annual District Services and Parades
were held but could have been better
attended. However despite that, two of our
District Chapters each marked significant
anniversaries whereby No 4 RBDC's 125th
birthday year, with a number of fantastic
events, raised £1500 which was donated to
its chosen charity .. 'Survivors of Suicide.'
Equally No 6 RBDC Shankill Road also
marked its 110th year within the Imperial
Grand Black Chapter since 1909.
Our Annual City Grand Chapter Service
of Thanksgiving in August saw Saint
Paul's and Saint Barnabas' Parish Church
packed to capacity; and what a blessed
afternoon was had by all attending.
Last year's traditional Demonstration in
Holywood was a good day out although the
frustrating transport issues continually haunt
our arrangements; therefore I can only but
stress the importance of following fully, the
Order of the Day instructions.
Sadly the persistent, evidential and
agitative issues confronting some
Preceptorys that evening in Belfast City
Centre from militant supporters of an
inextricably linked sectarian republican
organisation, responsible for over 2,000
killings of innocent people since 1969, and
although beyond our control, it should
remind us all that we must continue, whilst
on parade, to be vigilant of those who
despise the very ground we walk on!!
In September, our own Lecturing delegation
attended what was an excellent weekend in
Manchester for the International Lecturers
Conference coupled with our own successful
local Conference in November, as always;
both were up to the usual high standard.
Concluding the year, our Annual Mission
Praise Service in November was held in the
Welcome Evangelical Church (image left;
CGC Officers & Pastor Jonathon Clarke) with
the format altered to incorporate a more
praise content and graciously with the various
District Chaplains undertaking an introductory
lead into each of our individual hymns.
An all-round pleasing year
concluded with the Belfast City
Grand Officers attending the
Imperial Grand Council's halfyearly meeting last December.
Now and into a new, and no
doubt another busy, year ahead
as we continue to work on all
our ongoing items of business
with advance details relative to
IN MEMORY OF THE FALLEN - 15 - AND THE FUTURE OF THE LIVING
