Why should we eat and serve whole grain
bread instead of white bread, and baking
with white flour?
A grain kernel has three parts: the bran, the
endosperm, and the germ. Whole grains
contain all parts of the grain kernel. On the
contrary, white flour and white bread has had
the fiber-dense bran and the nutrient-rich
germ processed out, leaving only the starchy
endosperm. By removing the bran and germ,
key nutrients including vitamins, minerals,
healthy fats, protein, and fiber are lost.
What can I do to prepare breakfast
ahead of time, and reduce the time
spent in the morning?
Most of the recipes in this recipe book
can be made ahead of time and stored in
the fridge or freezer! Smoothies can be
divided into muffin tin cups, and frozen
into disks, and the dry ingredients for
pancake mix can be made ahead of time.
