If you enjoy maths, like solving problems, and have an eye
for detail, Accounting could be a great career choice for
you. Accounting is an exciting, dynamic and in demand
career. Every organisation needs people who understand
the numbers!
The T Level in Accounting is aimed at preparing you for a
career as an Assistant Accountant. Assistant Accountants
are tasked with supporting qualified accountants within the
business and finance function. They are involved in a wide
range of accounting tasks, from report preparation
to ledger maintenance, bank statements reconciliation
and cash flow forecasting.

In year two, you will study an occupational
specialism, Assistant Accountant and you
will learn how to:
• Prepare financial statements
• Analyse business performance and

On the course you will be developing team and
professional skills to get you ready for employment or
further higher level courses as well as all the essential
knowledge to be a successful Assistant Accountant.
In year one, you will study core units
covering a range of topics such as:
Your T Level will include an industry
placement with an employer to
help you develop the practical and
technical skills required for the
occupation. Bury College will support
students in finding relevant work
placements. These will last a minimum
of 315 hours and average 350 hours
(around 45 days). Employers can offer
industry placements as a block, day
release or a combination of the two.
DURATION
In the classroom you will be working independently,
or in groups to solve accounting problems. You will be
researching and designing an innovative solution to a
business issue, and then presenting your findings to the
group. You’ll also have a chance to practice your new
skills in the workplace.
