†Please note, a DBS check will be required when you enrol on the course in order to complete a placement.
Your studies will focus on gaining skills in supporting the
class teacher to enhance pupil’s learning, in either small
groups or individually, to ensure that pupils understand
the work set, know their learning objectives and progress
by staying on task. You will also need to be a good role
model by promoting positive values and behaviours, act
with honesty and integrity, take part in group work and
contribute to planning and class activities. Your future role
is very much about encouraging pupils to progress and
develop in a positive, nurturing and safe environment.

As part of achieving the overall T Level

specialism is required to complete
a minimum of 750 hours industry
placement.
Assisting Teaching
As part of achieving the overall T Level
programme, any student undertaking
the Assisting Teaching occupational
specialisms is required to complete a
minimum of 315 hours industry
placement.
