Nearly 40 years ago Cooper Foods began as a trout
smokery and with the help of a dedicated mother, they
expanded into making and selling homemade meat pies to
pubs. Demand grew for other products such as cocktail
prawns and breaded scampi so early morning trips to
Billingsgate Market became routine and a the seafood part
of the business started.
Mark Cooper founded Cooper Foods in 1986, and his brother Will
joined him a year later. Over the years, with the support of a loyal
workforce, Cooper Foods has transformed significantly. Despite
these changes, their commitment to quality and customer service
remains unchanged.
Cooper Foods prides itself on offering high-quality meat and fish.
We source prime seafood from Brixham Fish Market, known for its
day boats, ensuring freshness and flavour. Our meat, including beef
and seasonal lamb, comes from Chalk Down Farm and is matured in
a Himalayan Salt Ageing Chamber.

sourcing, quality, and cost of selected
seafood. Purchasing is based on the
core belief that native species are the
best for flavour and freshness. For
this reason, Cooper Foods buys the
majority of English prime seafood
from Brixham (Devon), where there
are still many day boats.
Exotic species also need to be ethical,
affordable, and of high quality.
The introduction of a 24-hour sales office and prep teams has
enhanced our service, allowing customers to speak to a real person
even after evening service. This night-time telesales service has
proven invaluable for many customers.
