CAE CULTURE BOOK
WHY DOES 30 YEARS
MATTER?
Under 50% of newly founded businesses
make it past five years and survival rates
for larger businesses have been falling
consistently for decades.
Out of 5.6 million registered
businesses in the UK only 7,700
have over 250 employees –
that is just over 0.1%.
So just getting to this milestone could be
considered an achievement in itself, but
it means more than that.
We can look at how adaptable the
business has been in terms of how many
technologies have come and gone and
how many big brands have come and
gone. What is consistent is that there’s
true value in what we do. Irrespective of
the technology there will always be a
place to advise on decision making and
support at those times when customers
most need it.
By far the biggest investment has
been made in people. Not only job
creation but a consistent focus to
make sure that everyone’s personal
aspirations can grow in line with those
of the business.
Relationships and partnerships with
customers and suppliers have also
stood the test of time. Our growth and
continued success is directly linked to
theirs and the belief in this over short
term gain is a significant contributing
factor to longevity.
The foundation for 30 years has been
culture. Having a purpose and creating
an emotional connection to what
we do is the fundamental reason for
prolonged success.
It’s what has got us to 30 years and is
what will allow us to be here for the
next 30.
Bring on the party!
Growth has been consistent over three
decades. Financially this means being
able to invest to support future plans,
in systems, buildings and overall
infrastructure. It means being able to
ride out storms caused by recession,
Brexit and COVID.
