Haida
I’m a Haida graphic artist and have been creating Haida art since 2012. At that time, I decided I needed to change the
direction of my life. This is when I started learning about my family from Haida Gwaii. I researched Haida art and learned
the basic forms. Then I started playing with designs and developed my own style. That style has evolved and continues to
evolve the more I create new work. I have tried to stay true to the traditional Haida style and have for the most part, but I
feel that to grow as an artist I must be open to change. As I continue on my new path, I try new things and learn more about
tradition and this is reflected in my work.
mon travail.

inspiration from nature, a tendency shared with many First Nations artists. “My work reflects my culture: its blessings along
with its inner pains and suffering. My journey through life has led me to my native culture and traditions, to the place where
I am honoured to share my heart and soul through my artistic gift.”
