Cecilie - material quality
Why did we choose to include linen in our collection?
Linen is a natural material made from the flax plant and its stem.
Flax is one of the oldest plant fibers in the world that has been used for textile manufacture. Its use dates back to
ancient Egypt, approx. 5000 years ago.
Flax is entirely a natural fiber that has a low climate impact, this applies to both when grown and as processed. Even
if it is grown conventionally, it does not need fertilizer and plant protection products to grow, as it is naturally strong
and disease-resistant plant.
In addition, the hollow structure in the fibers makes linen help regulate heat and cold. The fact is that the material
cools in summer and isolates in winter, among other things. Therefore, linen is so delicious to wear.
Linen also has a strong tendency to curl easily, which you probably just have to consider as part of the charm.
In our Cecilie series we mix linen with our organic cotton. We are very proud of the quality we have developed in
this special weaving and blend we have made. It has all the best qualities of the linen and the cotton, and it is so
soft and delicate to wear. Included both in our our slow-wear and our interior range, we are sure you will love it too.
The production of this linen/cotton blend is made with our GOTS certified partner in India. Although each material is
individually able to be GOTS certified, the combination is not yet available with the GOTS certification, but we hope
this will be possible very soon.
