A
gility is essential
as ‘even when
the world stops
turning, logistics
never stops’
India is a very diverse country,
more than 19K languages or
dialects are spoken in India as
mother tongue. Apart from this
we are a multi-cultural society.
This diversity is also seen in the
fashion industry as well; fashion
changes with regions.
This, in turn, throws challenges in setting up supply chains.
Regional dynamics has to be
considered herein. One set of
processes may not work for the
entire country. There is a need
to understand the local culture
in order to have a successful and
meaningful supply chain that is
customer centric and provides
the level of service that a region
demands.
Retailers around the world
have to update and improve
their supply chain processes
continuously. Those companies
that manage to ingest their
supply chains with intelligence
using native cloud solutions will
prepare their business for tomorrow. It will enable them to bring
products to market faster across
the globe and redirect (return)
products quickly when needed.

This agility is essential as ‘even
when the world stops turning,
logistics never stops’.
Each stage of the supply
chain is a strategic tool
that can be used to further
business objectives
I believe outsourcing can help to
manage most of the challenges
related to logistics. There are
companies that have understood
the dynamics of our country and
provide the best-case solution. It’s
only a matter of understanding
the needs of customers and then
spending time in evaluating the
right service providers that can
meet a company’s requirements.
Since supply chains are so
critical to the success and continuity of all businesses, optimising
them will result in faster production cycles and reduced costs.
The key to an optimised supply
chain is effective supply chain
management (SCM) and a great
way to achieve such optimisation
is by outsourcing SCM to the
right experts.
From inventory management
and replenishment to order fulfilment and last-mile delivery, each
stage of the supply chain is a
strategic tool that can be used
to further business objectives.
Reliable logistics service providers
take over the hassle of managing your supply chain network,
allowing you to:
* Build better products/services
* Develop new ideas
* Market and strengthen
customer relationships
* Ideate and implement future
growth strategies
The key to succeed is not in
buying the system; it’s about
harnessing the information
that is generated
Established businesses can benefit from the use of advanced
technologies. However, the use
of advanced technology is not the
real solution to achieve a reen-
gineered business process. The
information system in use must
be such that it not only captures
the data pertaining to the supply
chain management process but
also translates them into actionable and useful insights. Businesses must use these insights
to better their operations and
processes on a real-time basis.
A detailed report with all the
information that flows in and out
of the business but provides no
real output is not desirable. We
should be able to process and get
actionable insights from them.
There are now many solutions
available in the market depending
on the budgets available. Many of
