Site Nuhtshimitsh / In the forest
The interpretive site Nuhtshimitsh / In the forest is a living outdoor exhibit of indigenous flora. You will discover how
the Ilnuatsh, a nomadic people, used local plants of the boreal forest on a daily basis for shelter, travel, food and
medicine. A visit to the long tent, Shaputuan, is a must.

TRIO packages
To promote awareness of
Pekuakamiulnuatsh culture, the
Société d’histoire et d’archéologie
de Mashteuiatsh has developed
an educational program linked to
the Social Sciences course in the
Québec school system introduced
by the Ministère de l'Éducation et
de l'Enseignement supérieur.
Various activities are offered for
students at primary, secondary,
college and university levels.
Various packages are available
for visiting the three attractions of
the Société d’histoire et
d’archéologie de Mashteuiatsh
(the Native Museum, Saint Kateri
Tekakwitha church and the
Uashassihtsh site).
Day camps and school
groups
