Neighbourhood Layouts Spring 2023 copy2 - Flipbook - Page 3
A Letter from our
Acting Executive Minister
How have you seen God at work in your neighbourhood in 2023? How is He speaking to you
and your community?
2023 may be considered a year of transition for
you… it certainly is for our CBAC staff! I write this
as I begin to conclude approximately six weeks
of my time as Acting Executive Minister, appointed by the CBAC Council to serve while our
Interim Executive Minister, Dr. Terry Atkinson, is
on extended sick leave. Thank you for your
prayers for Terry and for our organization over
the past few months.
In 2023 we’re excited to embrace new events and
initiatives while continuing the valuable rhythms
and gatherings from before the pandemic. From
Integrate Conference, to The Good Way Journey
to Leadership Development Intensive to Come
Closer, we’re seeing fresh and exciting ways to
learn, grow, and connect (and not just for pastoral leaders!). Among our events that are returning,
I want to highlight three: One Conference is
returning to the Moncton Coliseum for the first
time since 2019. Tidal Impact is happening for the
first time in four years (Saint John, NB). And
Oasis will be held in August at Crandall University.
I want to thank you for reading our Spring 2023
edition of The Neighbourhood. In this short
newsletter, I hope you can catch some hope and
excitement for what our CBAC family is doing to
share and demonstrate the good news of Jesus
in communities across our region. God has been
working in so many ways—and when we respond
by faithfully following where He leads, we can see
His Kingdom come in our neighbourhoods.
This partnership that is the CBAC is made strong
by your prayer, your participation, and your financial support. We’re grateful for all of this! You are
making it possible for our CBAC family to have an
impact that reaches beyond your community, to
join in what God is doing across our region and
around the world.
My encouragement for you as a congregation this
year is to continue to lean in to what God is up to
in your neighbourhood. Lean into the practices
and rhythms of worship and ministry that God
would have you continue to do, as you strive to
grow and become more like Jesus. And seek His
will for what your congregation should begin to
innovate and start afresh.
It’s truly an honour for myself, our staff, and our
Council to support and encourage our churches
and leaders. May God bless, sustain, and guide
you as you serve Him in 2023 and beyond.
