This course is a chronological study of art and
architecture from the Renaissance to the 20th
century. Class will study the visual characteristics of works of art and interpret the meaning
of the objects in their cultural and historical
contexts. A series of lectures and interactive
discussions will explore how artists and art historians have used art to examine and critique
society. Students will develop critical thinking
skills and a broad knowledge of the western
artistic traditions since the 15th century. Topics
include an overview of specific historical
periods, artistic styles, cultural, political, and

Study some of the highlights of the book of
Genesis from a Messianic Jewish perspective.
This study looks at creation, Adam and Eve,
the generations that follow, the world-wide
flood and Noah’s Ark. From the three sons of
Noah, humanity begins to repopulate the earth
and the beginning of languages. Instructor:

Learn about modern discoveries that make
sense against historical tradition as to what the
Holy Bible says about Israel and the Red Sea
Crossing. Using the Holy Bible, maps, recent
discoveries and writings of this most amazing
historic event, students will learn how God
directed all events. Learn the meaning of the
sequence of historical events in God’s plan and

Hamilton: More Than a Musical
2025 is the 10th anniversary of “Hamilton: An
American Musical,” the Tony award winning
blockbuster musical that took America by
storm. This informative course will stimulate
discussion around the life of Alexander Hamilton. Students will examine his early days in
the Caribbean, through the American Revolutionary War, the writing of the US Constitution,
to his rise to be Secretary of the Treasury and
making it all work through his economic policies. Throughout each class there will be music
from the original Broadway musical. Topics
include Hamilton’s contributions, politically,
economically, and militarily during the American Revolutionary War and afterwards, relationships between Hamilton and the founders, and
the birth of the United States. Instructor: Mease

gain the joy of reading. Cecil County
Project Literacy makes a difference by offering free, confidential one-on-one tutoring to
teach adults basic reading and writing skills.
Each student works with a trained volunteer
and receives books free of charge.
Help spread the word! Tell someone you
know about this program if you suspect he/
she has limited reading ability, or contact
Carolyn Fletcher at 443-907-1391 to arrange
for a speaker to address your organization.
Attend volunteer tutor training. Learn
the skills to become a volunteer tutor for
Project Literacy. Topics include characteristics of adult learners, The Laubach Way to
Reading, and methods of teaching reading.

with the story of Isaac and Rebekah, and their
two sons, Esau and Jacob, and the events of
this time in history. Topics include the death of
Abraham, the elevation of Joseph as Pharaoh’s
second in command of Egypt the events of
Israel, the twelve sons, and the Jewish people.
