Design tips
for moving into a new home
At Cala, we think long and hard about how you’ll use your
new home. Your priorities when looking for a home may have
changed in recent years, but space inside and out has always
been central to us. Here, one of our interior designers,
Eileen Kesson from Envision, gives some top tips on how
to make your new Cala home work for you.
Set up the ideal
home office
The ‘working from home’ trend,
adopted out of necessity in lockdown, has
continued to be a part of our lives and has
really helped us achieve a work/life
balance. People want a better work space
so they keep the convenience of working
from home, but can also shut off and
‘reclaim’ their home at the end of the day!

Cala Living – Autumn 2023
Although many Cala homes have a dedicated
home office, remember that a good working
from home set up can be accommodated in
small nooks of the house too, or as part of a
flexible bedroom to avoid work taking over.
Either way, two must-have features when it
comes to home working are;
• Good light – set up near a window for great
light and to feel connected to the world
outside.
• Ample storage – so that any work-related
items can be put out of sight at the end of
every day.
