Rich Segal |
“The Voice of Gay Sports”
Rich was born to be a play-by-play broadcaster. With more than 35 years in television news, most
of which has been as an on-air Meteorologist or News Director, Rich learned how to paint a picture
with his words and today is hailed as a master artist on the microphone. The bulk of Rich’s broadcast
career has been in Missouri and Texas. In fact, Longhorn fans will recognize Rich’s voice as the PA
announcer at many of the U-T stadiums in and around his Austin, Texas home. For several years
Rich served on the board for Softball Austin and was a key figure in helping Austin win the bid
for hosting the 2016 World Series. He is also a member of the Softball Austin Hall of Fame and for
several years was on the board of the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Rich joined Cloud Sports Network in early 2019 and
has quickly earned the moniker “The Voice Of Gay Sports” for the passion and professionalism with which he announces games.
From the moment he first joined our broadcast at the 2019 NAGAAA Cup in Denver, Rich became an instant fan favorite for his
precision, attention to detail and pure passion for sports that comes through the microphone.
Joel Trambley |
“The Doctor”
Joel Trambley, M.D., Ph.D, is board-certified in internal medicine and is a professor of medicine in
Southern California. He is also a former Chairperson and current member of the San Diego Human
Relations Commission, and a member of the board of directors at the San Diego LGBTQ Community
Center. He was a founding member and eventual co-Chair of the San Diego Chapter of the Human
Rights Campaign and wrote a weekly column on LGBT Politics for LGBT Weekly. He is also the Open
Section Commissioner of America’s Finest City Softball League in San Diego and has played in
multiple NAGAAA Gay Softball World Series in both the C and D divisions. Like Rich, Joel’s expertise
is hardly limited to softball. He’s also certified official for Flag Football and has been on the microphone with Cloud Sports
Network as both a play-by-play and color commentator for Championship Saturday at the San Diego American Flag Football
League, at the ASANA Women’s Softball World Series in New Orleans, and at the Sin City Classic in Las Vegas. Joel’s contributions
of noticing the tiniest details, in how a pitcher is attacking a batter to how defenses are aligned in a Cover 2 defensive alignment,
add a genuine depth to the broadcasts that helps provides perspective to what the viewers are seeing as they watch and listen
to our coverage.
Roman Jimenez |
Chief Executive Officer
For more than 10 years Roman Jimenez was the reporter of record for stories both local and national
that impacted the LGBT community. A one-time editor of the prestigious Update, an LGBT weekly
news publication that thrived in the and 90s and early 2000s, Roman’s coverage of the spree-killer
Andrew Cunanan and the tragic murder of Wyoming college student Matthew Shepard landed him
on Dateline NBC and Good Morning America. Likewise his coverage of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”
compromise and the passage of Defense of Marriage Act legislation also made headlines across
the country. Prior to Update, Roman was an on-air radio personality in Gillette, Wyoming, Turlock, California and eventually San
Diego. When Roman left the paper, he continued for several more years writing a small column dedicated to LGBT athletics and
the people who play them, while also coaching and playing with his softball team in America’s Finest City Softball League which
he has now down for over 20 years. He also served as the league’s commissioner and other various posts. His contributions as a
coach, player and board member were recognized in 2019 when he was inducted in the AFCSL Hall of Fame.

passionate about our work.
