COLLEGE OF INNOVATION + DESIGN — Dean’s Report
The Onramp Program works with schools in need
(60%+ Free/Reduced Lunch eligibility) to provide
educators the tools, training, and resources to
create coding experiences for K-12 students.
Through the program, educators have integrated
challenge-based learning along with Apple's
Everyone Can Code and Everyone Can Create into
their classrooms and curriculum.
ONRAMP
PROGRAM (OP)
CI+D’s partners in the Onramp program are College
of Western Idaho (CWI), Idaho Digital Learning
Alliance (IDLA), and Apple. School District partners
are the Boise and Wilder school districts. Apple
provided funding, equipment grants, and hundreds
of hours of master-level training and support.
Community, Creativity, Coding
800+ students engaged in coding experiences
(37% female and 42% URM/refugee) by 12 Onramp
educators in 4 districts.
117 professional development credits earned.
2 CWI courses designed and launched in Spring 2020.
1 IDLA online Swift coding course launching in Fall 2020.
