In recognition of World Sleep Day
2021, 19 March 2021, multinational
electronics manufacturer Philips
released its report, Seeking
solutions: How COVID-19 changed
sleep around the world. The report
is based on research into the

The number of people looking at their phone before bed has risen from
74% in 2020 to 84% in 2021. Four in 10 (41%) people say they are reading
news about the COVID-19 pandemic or political events (37%).

the onset of the pandemic.
The stress relating to

across the world has also resulted
in a far higher number of people
reading news about the pandemic
or political events while in bed.
