FINDING
YOUR
PURPOSE
The link between purpose and
profit is hard to refute, with the vast
majority (98 per cent) of global
business executives now believing
it is critical for organisations to have
a corporate purpose.
This is a key finding in Purpose
Drives Profit: How global executives
understand value creation today,
a report compiled by global
stakeholder communications
agency Black Sun, in collaboration
with the Value Reporting
Foundation and the Association of
International Certified Professional
Accountants.
The report shows almost all
companies now have a statement
of purpose, but only 51 per cent
of business leaders believe that
their purpose statement is very
clear. A further 75 per cent of
executives think that integrated
reporting better enables a company
to communicate the factors that
materially affect its ability to create
value over time.

CLOUD-BASED TECHNOLOGIES
HOLD THE KEY TO ECONOMIC
GROWTH ACROSS ASIA-PACIFIC,
ACCORDING TO A NEW REPORT
FROM DELOITTE.
Deloitte’s report, The Cloud
Imperative, finds that the region
could benefit from a US$160
billion (A$217 billion) future
economic boost if businesses
increase investment in, and take
greater advantage of, the cloud.
However, only 10 per cent of
businesses across the region
believe they have a high level of
cloud-readiness, while 46 per
cent are hesitant or completely
unprepared for cloud computing.
The report includes a survey of
600 business leaders across eight
focus markets – Australia, Hong
Kong, India, Japan, Mainland
China, New Zealand, Singapore
and South Korea.
