we know that a pandemic was round the corner and all the planning had
to be mothballed. Fast forward 2 years and we are in a position to revive
the idea with a bit more structure.
Deborah Coen and June Davies sit on the Youth & Community Committee
of Westerham Town Council, and the Committee has obtained funding
from a Covid Recovery Fund designed to encourage enterprise that
supports any community venture. Hence “CH Coffee, Cake & Chat” is ready
We have hired the Harris Room on the mornings of Tuesday 14 June,
Tuesday 12 July and Thursday 11 August and the drop in will run from
9.30am to 12.30. Everyone from the community is welcome - friends
starting or finishing their walk, mums with babies, neighbours who want to
chat in a new venue or just come alone - we will have the day’s newspaper
and some puzzles if you just want a quiet moment.
June has lined up a band of volunteers who will serve hot and cold drinks
and we will have a range of cake and biscuits on offer. There is no charge
as we are fully funded. Anyone who needs transport let us know. If the
three-month trial is a success it will continue on a monthly basis and will
continue to be free for at least 6 months. The success depends on the take
up and feedback from you. Contacts: Deborah Coen 01732 866221 & June
Davies 01732 866350. We look forward to seeing you.
The Prayer Group - Wednesday 22nd June
Everyone is welcome to join The Prayer Group which will meet on
Wednesday June 22nd at 2 p.m. at Woodmote. We would love you to join
us for a time of prayer and reflection. There are many people and many
situations around the world, especially the people and situation in Ukraine,
in need of prayer. We also pray for our Bishops and Priests and our
Tonbridge Deanery, Edenbridge Churches in Covenant, and our own
community. There are also plenty of things for which to give thanks. Please
let Rev. Alison or me know if there is anything you would like us to pray for.
