The Fete! - Saturday 9th July - S.O.S Help
Bob Holt
We are truly delighted that our fete is going ahead this year, despite the
many challenges regarding the uncertain availability of the Recreation
Ground and facilities. Thank those who have already given us valuable
support. We are now urgently in need of more support.
So please help us by giving us your support in the following areas of need
and ring Bob asap to let him know of your commitment: Bob Holt 01959

• Strong hands on Saturday 9th to move heavy equipment at the
beginning and end of the day
• Helpers for the popular Bric-a- Brac Stall
• Stall holders for games stalls (e.g. Coconut Shy, Hoopla etc.)
Items needed for the fete
Cakes for the cake stall and the teas
The most requested cakes from customers are always: Fruit cakes and loaf
cakes, Coffee and walnut or chocolate, Victoria sponge, Lemon Drizzle,
Bakewell Tarts, Individual cakes and biscuits. Please be aware that heavily
iced cakes such as cup cakes spoil easily on hot days making them difficult
to sell. This is such a shame when you have worked so hard to make them.
Please bring donations to the fete from 1 p.m. onwards or contact. Lorraine
(01732 868363, 07920 865962 or lorrashley@aol.com
Books
Now’s your chance to clear your bookshelves, all those books you’ll never
read again! Please leave in the front porch at the Skinners, at Oakfield
Farm, Main Road, TN8 6SP, on the right just before Rushetts. Books for
teenagers and children would be particularly appreciated. Larger
quantities of books I can probably pick up; just leave a message with Adam
Skinner on 864916. Please note, try not to dump books that literally
nobody, I mean nobody, will ever read!
Bottles
John Hiles (01883 7144166) will be running the bottle tombola and your
contributions will be collected by your newsletter distributor or can be
brought on the day by 1 p.m. Please look out your finest vintages as well as
soft drinks and cans for this ever-popular and highly profitable stall.
Bric-a-Brac
Please bring your Bric-a-Brac from 9. a.m on the morning of the fete
