Vice Chancellor’s Message
On August 15, 1947, we became a free nation. It was the culmination of a dream seen
by our forefathers and freedom fighters. A nation set free some 75 years ago, has grown up as
a strong and dynamic nation after traversing a long trail in hail and sun. The establishment of
world’s largest democracy and strengthening of those democratic values has been one of
India’s greatest achievements over the last seven and a half decades. Strong democratic
institutions, economic empowerment, political enlightenment and social transformation have
contributed to what India is today. India of 2021 is a country that has a global outlook and global
aspirations.
As we celebrate the 75 glorious years of India’s independence, Azadi ka Amrit
Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years
of India’s Independence and its glorious history, people, culture and achievements.
On this momentous occasion, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University proudly joins
the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Under six themes planned by the Government of
India: Vishva Guru Bharat, India’s Rich Cultural Heritage, Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Celebrating
Unsung Heroes, Ideas, Achievements & Resolve and Independence 2.0. This compendium
presents brief discription of various activities undertaken by Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah
University as a part of the nationwide Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
I sincerely hope that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations will ensure involvement of
the young men and women in recalling the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism in the journey
towards an Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
