Asia Walker, originally from the South Side of Chicago, earned her BA from Fairfield University in CT and
served in the United States Army before transitioning to her current role as a Specialized Curl Artist. After
obtaining her Cosmetology credentials from Aveda Institute Los Angeles, she furthered her skills at Deva
Curl Academy in SOHO, becoming a Level 3 Certified Deva Cut Stylist. Asia, a Mentor Stylist (Educator)
at Cut It Kinky, trained extensively under the renowned Aeleise Jana across the country. She has enriched
her expertise through various programs like Rëzo Training, Redken Color, Know Why, and Forever Curls
Academy.
Driven by her belief in the transformative journey of embracing curls, Asia advocates for A Curly Walk,
not a sprint but a WALK, emphasizing the importance of self-discovery and acceptance. Drawing from her
personal experience, she aims to empower and educate her community effectively. Her profound dedication
lies in serving others, with a strong conviction that the black woman's self-love can be a healing force. Asia
is resolute in catalyzing positive change, supporting Curl Keepers in embracing their authentic selves to
spread love and healing in the world. Recognizing the impact of societal norms on self-perception, she is
committed to empowering women through cutting, education, coaching, advocacy, and resource provision
to celebrate individual uniqueness.
As the founder of Tight Curl Beauty Co., an online luxury beauty supply, Asia has crafted a premium hair
care experience tailored for black women, contributing to beauty and empowerment worldwide.
