Faux Locs

All faux loc installs are not created equal but, if
you are looking for a cuddle buddy this winter,
rumor has it, faux locs bring all the boys to the
yard. It’s a great choice for anyone looking to
truly experiment with their look. Blend a mixture of
textures to create something unique, get blunt
ends, or add deep wavy hair for a more boho
style. It’s the type of install that looks good on
everyone. You’re just going to have to trust me on
this!
Pro tip: Faux locs are like wine. They get better with
time but that doesn’t mean you leave them in longer…
nice try! Just cheat the process. Have them installed on
a clean head of hair without product. Make sure the
base is not too tight and when the installation is done,
lightly brush the top layer to create a more lived-in
look. Not only is zero product a safer bet for your
strands, but you’ll also have everyone secondguessing if your locs are natural. You’re welcome!

Pro tip: The choices for this style are limitless. Choose
curls, waves, or mix a braided top half with a weave in
the back to get the best of both worlds! To maintain
the loose back half, here is some old-school advice:
Use a hair net! Hair nets are fragile enough to hold
hair gently yet strong enough to keep things intact.
There’s a reason why those delicate things are still
around.
