Tips for Harmonious Living
Here is what the locals want you to know!
DOGS: Pet ownership works differently in rural Alaska.
Sometimes pets have freedom to roam or get loose. While
certainly NOT optimal for animal or human safety, you can
not assume a wandering dog is homeless or uncared for.
Please do NOT feed or house lose dogs. This encourages them
to roam and find tasty snacks.
TRASH: Nothing ruins the beauty of nature like trash littering
the ground. PLEASE take the time to pack up bottles, cans,
toilet paper, etc that you might have used while recreating
outdoors - this keeps our outdoor spaces, playgrounds, lakes
and trails beautiful and safe for everyone.
PUBLIC SPACES: Things work different in Denali - there is
often a lot of shared space! Please remember that user groups
are diverse and multifauceted. Please think about the
community as a whole - and treat our space as if you have a
stake in it.
