an entertainer, she’s an activist and
cial media after it was disclosed that he
covered the expenses to secure Moore’s
star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
To earn a star on the Hollywood Walk
of Fame, a celebrity needs to demonstrate their lasting impact in one of
six categories and secure a nomination
supported by their management. Once
approved by the Walk of Fame committee, the celebrity pays a fee of $75,000
for the creation, installation, and up-
trailblazer, leaving an indelible mark
on the world of arts and beyond,” revealed Walk of Fame Producer, Ana
Martinez. “Her loyal fans gathered in
admiration on the day of the ceremony,
celebrating the recognition of this musical gem with a well-deserved Walk of
Fame star.”
At the age of 77, this honorary star
on the Hollywood Walk of Fame came
around six decades after Melba initially entered the entertainment industry,
with comedian Katt Williams playing a
role in making this milestone possible.
Williams is being lauded by fans on so-

Pop, Rock, Jazz, Gospel, and Classical
music.

Black National Anthem.

featuring her new single, a mesmerizing remake of the Ashford & Simpson
R&B classic “It Seems To Hang On,”
Melba Moore continues to captivate

her Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Friday, August 26, 2022, Moore received the Joseph R. Biden Lifetime
Achievement Award, honoring her
career. The event took place at Morehouse College in Atlanta GA. At the
event, she also received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her
commitment to improvement within
urban communities.
In recent years, the Harlem-born,
Newark-raised dynamo’s rendition of
“Lift Every Voice & Sing” (recorded in
1990) was added to the US National
Recording Registry by the Library of
Congress in 2017 as an “American Aural Treasure.” The rendition was also
entered into the Congressional Record
as the O昀케cial Black National Anthem. Moore’s rendition of the national Black anthem was also added to the
US National Recording Registry by the
Library of Congress as an “American
Aural Treasure”.
From Broadway to television, hit records to high accolades from arts and
civic leaders, Moore has overcome personal and professional obstacles on the
road to her iconic status.
