full course lunches and dinners with

if you’re craving ca昀昀eine, the co昀昀ee bar

F
ashion sustainability is
a key theme in many
stores supporting a circular economy. What’s
amazing here is that
the shopkeepers actually provide unparalleled attention to every client. It’s certain you’ll be greeted with a friendly
smile and a helping hand, sta昀昀 members fully versed in every aspect of the
store’s operation. They’ll even o昀昀er to
take measurements if you’re unsure of
your size! Try 昀椀nding that kind of service in an American Mall. Don’t forget to get your receipt stamped at the
airport duty free exchange for a deep
discount on your purchases when re26
turning home. Ask for info at any shop

would be complete without a trip to the
Rijks Museum where the Rembrandt
exhibit features the celebrated Night
britches and shoes with ribboning and
bows. Cycling is one of the main modes
of transport in Holland and you can see
why the Dutch are so healthy because
everyone cycles from school age chil-
Watch, painted during the Dutch Golden Age, along with some of his most
notable etchings. Renowned for his uncanny understanding of how the human
eye moves across imagery, scienti昀椀cally
referred to as eye guiding, Rembrandt
stands alone in his mastery of light re昀氀ective narratives for me. As a fashion
a昀椀cionado, history junkie, and beauty
expert, I’m drawn to the Dutch masters and their portrayals of the gentry
at play during the Dutch Golden Age.
The shoes the men wore were just gorgeous. We see them most clearly compared to the women’s footwear which is
often concealed by voluminous skirts of
satin and brocade. Have to laugh imagining my husband wearing tights and
dren up to and including citizens celebrating life in their 80’s. Riding a bike
to the market every day is the norm in
Dutch culture which is made easy by
the fact that cyclists enjoy e昀케ciently
marked cycling roadways and the right
of way.
Popular now are e-bikes which my
husband and I rented, and I have to say
it was an awesome experience. You can
explore any city or trek into the countryside on a bike, stopping at shops or
along a canal to 昀椀nd refreshment at
your leisure. And visiting the markets
is just incredible where the freshest
meats, 昀椀sh and produce are available,
changed out seasonally. And don’t forget to pick up a block of Dutch cheese.
