THE STORY
MAGID ַמגּ ִיד
THE STORY
OF FREEDOM
MAKES THIS NIGHT DIFFERENT.
Magid (mah-GEED) means
“tell.” It is the longest part of the
Haggadah, when we tell the story of
how the Jewish people became slaves in
Egypt and then became free. As part of the
telling, we ask questions, invite discussion, and
experience the story with acting and singing.
