orthopedic joint management: hip
Coxofemoral Luxation Management
Dislocation of the hip joint results in displacement of the femoral
head from the acetabulum, creating a disruption of the joint
capsule and other local structures. Surgical reduction can be
used to replace the hip and restore support structure when
closed reduction is not successful.
SECUROS offers a variety of implants and instrumentation to
provide additional mechanical support to the hip joint during
the healing phase. The SECUROS Coxofemoral Luxation
Management (CLM) System was originally developed over a
2-year period with leading universities prior to production.

Femoral Head Osteotomy
When restoration of the hip is not feasible due to injury or poor
hip conformation, a Femoral Head Osteotomy (FHO) is one
surgical option. FHOs require the removal of the femoral head
and neck to produce a false joint. Proper patient selection is
critical to the success of FHOs.
SECUROS features a comprehensive collection of
instrumentation for FHOs including retractors, bone holding
forceps, bone reduction forceps, osteotomes, mallets, bone
cutting forceps, rasps, rongeurs, and power equipment.
Pelvic Osteotomy
Canine Hip Dysplasia (CHD) typically results in hip joint
instability or laxity. The long-term result to this joint laxity
is progressive cartilage loss, scar tissue and/or osteophyte
formation. Pelvic osteotomies are one surgical option for
immature dogs with CHD. These procedures involve cutting the
pelvis in two (DPO) or three (TPO) places and rotating the bone
segments to increase the coverage of the femoral head by the
acetabulum to decrease hip laxity.
SECUROS provides versatility to the surgeon by offering
implants and instrumentation for both DPO and TPO
procedures. Recently available are PAX locking DPO & TPO
plates in varying angles.
