orthopedic joint management: stifle
Stifle
Extracapsular Stabilization
Since the 1960s, Extracapsular Stabilization (ES)
has been used to correct stifle instability due to
cranial cruciate ligament rupture. ES combines
synthetic materials with femoral and tibial fixation
points to provide passive resistance to cranial
tibial translation, internal rotation of the tibia, and
hyperextension of the stifle joint such that long term
stability and function can be accomplished through
periarticular fibrosis.
SECUROS launched its repeatable, calibrated
crimping system in 1997 and has continued to
pioneer the ES procedure with the advent of
breakaway Bone Anchors, Titanium Nitride Coated
Crimp Clamps, OrthoFiber suture, and the PowerX
Crimping Device. SECUROS is the name you trust
for Extracapsular Stabilization.
