“I have,” said Alberto, with his undying love of enchiladas.
“It’s your birthday – presents come first,” prompts Estella, barely containing her enthusiasm of
seeing Alma open her precious birthday gift.
“Well…”
“Open it. OOOOO-Pen it!” They all chant.
Alma begins to tear off some icy purple stars and lavender flowered wrapping paper. Little by
little she sees a magnificent red box. There before her -- on her table -- in all its majesty -- is a brand
new, Husqvarna Viking Opal 670, still in the box.
“Oh-h-h. How did you do this? Why did you get --- such a beautiful sewing machine? “inquires
Alma, opening the box, taken aback by the technology of the Husqvarna Viking Opal 670, examining its
monochrome touchscreen and studying its long arm, “It’s enough to handle a quilt!” – then pouring over
its button gage – flanked in millimeters.
“I did it because I need Valentina’s gown by next Friday for her quinceañera,” urged Estella.
“I did it so I can borrow it from you on the weekends,” begged Fabiola.
“I did not want to do it,” admitted Esperanza. Then Ramona hit her, “but they made me do it.”
“We have been friends since high school. How could I not do it?” admitted Ramona, “this
machine will help you FLY! You will SOAR over the competition,” She said smiling. “It even cuts the
thread for you.”
“Fly? Soar?” said Alma, impressed and sliding her hand over the pasture painted box.
“Let me unpack it for you,” Alberto contends, barely taking his eyes off his enchiladas. He opens
an absolutely scrumptious innovation – the Husqvarna Viking Opal 670 and places it on the kitchen table.
“Let me show you,” said Fabiola,
Elena is awe struck, happily examining this artful machine, the essence of creativity for a
seamstress – and a dress designer.
“Yes, you will realize your designs in less time effort,” said Ramona.
