The New Teachers Times - Flipbook - Page 30
Day plan
Each day I write out a list on A4 paper:
- Each period and class.
- Titles of PowerPoints, page number
of their booklet – makes transitions
very quick / easy.
- Important resources needed e.g.
graph paper, new booklet, green pens,
exam papers etc.
- Tasks to mark in class – with my
empty box as a reminder.
Summary
1. Colour code resources / storage.
2. Make booklets to save on printing
resources little and often.
3. Use your diary with a routine that
works for you, including colour,
reminder boxes.
4. Medium term planning – outline
on an A4 sheet before filling in your
diary.
5. Consider having laminated
magnetic A4 sheets for messages
that you can stick to your front
board.
Laminated A5 and A4 coloured
paper
Buy small strips / squares of
adhesive magnetic tape, to stick
items to your front board.
I use the sheets for: Test Dates,
important messages, colour-coded
for the year group.
- This allows for quick reference for
the students, easily identifiable by
their year colour.
- Board marker pens are perfect once
you have laminated your coloured
paper / card.
On my own copy, I write useful
information:
a) which week the HW is set
b) Title of each PowerPoint and slide
number (for worksheet answers) and
c) Answers to task questions etc.
